Whether you have a pedestal sink and need some storage above it, or a washstand that’s spilling over with jars and bottles, a wall cabinet’s a welcome addition in place of just a mirror. Our Chichester design is understated and timeless, comes with adjustable shelving, and has a lit interior so you can see its contents clearly.

The Materials: When it comes to painted timber, we use tulipwood – a strong and resilient hardwood. Its fine, almost knot-free grain makes it perfectly suited to a painted finish, so you get the best of both worlds – strength and smoothness.

The Finish: Not every piece of furniture and every colour of paint needs the same process – a ‘one finish suits all’ approach won’t ever give you the best result possible. That’s why we vary the number of coats and use both hand-painted and spray-painted techniques depending on what that shade requires. Here, we also use our low-sheen, water-based eggshell, which is best suited to bathrooms.

What's inside?: There are three adjustable shelves, which are made from glass so they’re easy to wipe clean should a squirt of toothpaste go astray. They rest on an attractive and secure zigzag support system, and are easy to move around as and when your storage needs change.

Design Details:

As well as the bevelled glass shelves, there’s another mirror set into the back and a spotlight that shines down from the top. On the outside, we’ve kept things simple, but the cornice and the carved detail around the mirror give it Chichester’s subtly traditional look.

You can take the mirror off the front and move it to the inside of the door, in case you want to use Chichester as just a cabinet, not a mirror. All you need to do is pull off the pieces of clear rubber that sit around the inside of the door, take the panel out of the middle, flip it around so the painted side faces out, and fit the rubber back around the inside.
