Our Chichester fitted bathroom cabinets are configurable, so were designed for those homes that need an unusual size or a specific arrangement of storage. They have the same classic look as our freestanding washstands, but you can mix the various cabinets and then bring them together with skirting and your choice of work surface so they look like one solid piece. This one houses an undermounted sink but with plenty of storage space below it too. The Chichester fitted cabinetry features all the same classic details as the Chichester washstands – including a painted finish in your choice of colour – but you can combine the various cabinet sections any way you like. The Materials: When it comes to painted timber, we use tulipwood – a strong and resilient hardwood. Its fine, almost knot-free grain makes it perfectly suited to a painted finish, so you get the best of both worlds – strength and smoothness.

The Finish: Not every piece of furniture and every colour of paint needs the same process – a ‘one finish suits all’ approach won’t ever give you the best result possible. That’s why we vary the number of coats and use both hand-painted and spray-painted techniques depending on what that shade requires. Here, we also use our low-sheen, water-based eggshell, which is best suited to bathrooms.

The work surface: You can choose any of the surfaces in the Neptune collection, from natural Carrara marble and granite to low-maintenance quartz, or pop into store to see all the other samples we are able to offer.

The basin: The basin included with this cabinet is made from ceramic, which is the material we’ve found to be the best combination of durability and looks. One of the simple pleasures you’ll enjoy is that the overflow hole is on the side closest to you so that it’s hidden from sight.

What's inside?: Inside the cupboard is an adjustable shelf that rests on sturdy zigzag supports – they’re made from tulipwood and painted to help them blend in. There are also small oak cubbies on the inside of each door, which make use of this space for often-used items. Above is a false drawer that hides the sink – there for form rather than function.

What about taps?: We haven’t included taps, because we know that you’ll want to pick the style that suits you and your bathroom best. But, with an undermounted sink like this one, we recommend a three-hole style like Neptune's Bamburgh Tap.

Fitting: This will need to be fitted by a competant Carpenter/Fitter
